What is an ATEX or hazardous-area sensor?
In practical buying terms, it is a sensing or identification device considered for use within a defined hazardous-area configuration. The label alone is not enough to approve a deployment. The site classification, regional approval requirements, installation method and exact product configuration all need to align.
